Description Job Title: Accounting AssistantLocation: Menlo ParkEmployment Type: Contract to HireA leading construction company in Menlo Park is seeking a detail-oriented and highly efficient Accounting Assistant to join our finance team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for performing a variety of accounting and financial tasks to support our company’s day-to-day operations.Responsibilities: Manage accounts receivable and accounts payable Process checks, payments, and bank deposits Handle the company's financial paperwork and filing systems Assist with budget preparation and financial planning processes Reconcile financial discrepancies by collecting and analyzing account information Maintain digital and physical financial records Ensure timely payment of invoices and bills Assist with payroll processing Comply with all federal, state, and local protocols including legal requirements, and interpret new and existing legislation Maintain and update the company's financial databaseRequirements Qualifications: Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field Proven experience as an accountant or accounting assistant Familiarity with construction accounting software Knowledge of tax regulations and reporting Excellent data entry skills with a high level of accuracy Strong aptitude for math and financial data Ability to multitask, prioritize, and manage time efficiently Strong organizational and analytical skills Excellent communication skills, both written and verbalWorking Hours:This position requires 5-days onsite at our Menlo Park location. The selected candidate will be expected to meet stringent deadlines, perform under pressure, and handle confidential information responsibly.
