Description We are offering a contract-to-hire employment opportunity for an Accounting Clerk in San Jose, California. This position provides a unique blend of front desk responsibilities and accounting tasks, including accounts receivable and payable duties. The role is ideal for individuals with skills in Receptionist Duties, Accounts Payable (AP), Accounts Receivable (AR), Customer Invoices, and Invoice Entry.Responsibilities: Greet, welcome, direct, and announce visitors at the front desk appropriately Receive, sort, and distribute mail/deliveries daily Maintain office security by following safety procedures and controlling access via the reception desk Order office supplies and keep inventory of stock Ensure reception area is tidy and presentable, with all necessary stationery and material Post payments by recording cash, checks, and credit card transactions Verify the validity of account discrepancies by obtaining and investigating information from accounting software, customer service departments, and from customers Resolve valid or invalid postings by entering adjusting entries Summarize receivables by maintaining invoice accounts; coordinating monthly transfer to accounts receivable accounts; verifying totals; preparing report Upload invoices into customers’ invoicing websites Process credit card payments through customer secured channels Prepare check or credit card refunds Route vendor invoices for approval across all operating businesses Prepare and post invoices to the accounting system Apply vendor ACH and Credit card payments in the accounting system Update vendor contact or payment information in the accounting system Reconcile vendor statements Answer vendor calls on a timely basis and provide payment status File AP invoices/checks Requirements Proven experience in an Accounting Clerk role or similar Proficiency in performing receptionist duties Demonstrated knowledge and experience with Accounts Payable (AP) and Accounts Receivable (AR) Experience in creating and managing customer invoices Ability to enter invoices accurately and in a timely manner Excellent verbal and written communication skills Strong organizational skills with the ability to multitask Proficiency in using accounting software and Microsoft Office Suite Attention to detail and problem-solving skills Ability to work independently and as part of a team Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance or relevant field is preferable Robert Half is the world’s first and largest specialized talent solutions firm that connects highly qualified job seekers to opportunities at great companies.
