Description A Management Resources client is seeking a highly experienced and dedicated Interim Accounting Manager, specializing in Construction Accounting. The candidate should have exceptional experience with in-house payroll and exposure to certified payroll.This position requires the candidate to work on-site in East County, San Diego. The chosen candidate will be responsible for supervising, tracking, and evaluating day-to-day activities such as invoicing and account reconciliation. The Interim Accounting Manager will also assist in establishing financial status by developing and implementing systems for collecting, analyzing, verifying, and reporting financial information.Key Responsibilities:Oversight of daily and monthly financial activities including general ledger maintenance, accounts payable, accounts receivable, and payroll.Manage and do all aspect of in-house payroll.Prepare statements for leadership showing income, expenses, and past due accounts.Ensure all financial reporting deadlines are met.Establish and monitor the implementation of accounting control procedures.Resolve accounting discrepancies and irregularities.Maintain construction job cost, contract and subcontractor details, change orders, relevant insurance and lien waivers.Ensure confidential treatment and responsible use of sensitive payroll information.Assist in financial audits and coordinate with auditors.Implement and comply with certified payroll activities.Any other ad-hoc tasks as requested by the management.Qualifications:Bachelor’s degree in accounting, Finance or related field required. A minimum of 3-5 years of experience in Construction Accounting.Strong experience with in-house payroll.Exposure to Certified Payroll.Strong knowledge of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP).Proficiency in MS Office, accounting software, and databases.Excellent understanding of construction project financial management.Superior time management skills, multitasking skills, and the ability to prioritize tasks with minimal supervision.Professional and precise communication skills.Ability to handle confidential and sensitive information with discretion.
