Accounting staff needed to process payroll, AP and monthly reports.
1. Assist with general office coordination and public relations with various state and federal agencies.
2. The development of financial reports, other compliance reports, and in coordination of required activities for arranging the Tribe’s single agency audit.
3. Responsible for efficient and orderly maintenance of the Big Lagoon rancheria’s records of account and related fiscal matters as assigned by the Big Lagoon Rancheria Council and tribal General Manager.
4. Responsible for producing and submitting the annual Indirect Cost Proposal to the Interior Business Center.
5. Responsible for the accurate maintenance of the Tribal Government’s automated accounting system. To include cash receipts journal, cash disbursement, general ledgers, accounts payable, payroll, accounts receivable, and financial reports to the Tribal Council and other agencies. Further duties include the maintenance of payroll federal and state reporting and such disbursements that encompass the Tribal operations tax requirements and deposits.
6. Responsible for the management and reconciliations of all program banking records.
7. Supervises and directs fiscal staff in Tribal Enterprises in the completion of their duties.
8. Responsible for producing and submitting all tax documents for independent contractors
9. Responsible for creating and providing per capita payments for Big Lagoon Tribal members.
10. Managing the company’s financial transactions
11. Preparing the company’s financial reports
12. Taking part in the budgeting process
13. Managing the company’s accounting employees
14. Providing financial training to employees when needed
15. Preparing income statements
16. Monitor the financial reports and determine ways to reduce costs.
Qualifications:
Prefer B.S. Degree in Accounting or Business, with 3 ears of experience with Tribal Governments, or American Indian Organizations, and 3 years’ experience in accounting with computer accounting systems.
Knowledge of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles.
Minimum qualifications include AA degree in business, three years general accounting experience, two years computer experience related to an automated accounting system.
