Accounting Supervisor

Description We are offering an opportunity for an Accounting Supervisor in Irvine, California. In this role, you will be expected to supervise staff accountants and clerical staff, develop and maintain sales and margin reporting, and secure financial operations through monitoring and approving financial processing, reporting, and auditing. This role is instrumental in our financial operations and requires a strong understanding of accounting functions, auditing, and compliance.Responsibilities: Monitor and approve financial processing, reporting, and auditing to secure financial operations. Supervise staff accountants and clerical staff, ensuring the accomplishment of accounting objectives. Develop and maintain sales and margin reporting to support strategic planning. Contribute financial information to strategic plans and reviews, identify system improvements, and resolve problems. Implement corrective actions by providing annual budget information, monitoring expenditures, and identifying variances. Maintain cash flow by monitoring bank balances, cash requirements, and resource planning. Authorize checks and wire transfers by verifying check amounts against invoices. Audit transactions to approve ledger entries. Provide information and answers to auditors to support annual audits. Research and analyze accounting data to provide financial information to management. Prepare balance sheets, profit-and-loss statements, and other reports by collecting information and summarizing current financial status. Maintain accounting controls by preparing and recommending policies and procedures. Reconcile financial discrepancies by collecting and analyzing account information. Secure financial information following internal controls and completing database backups. Comply with federal, state, and local financial legal requirements by studying existing and new legislation, enforcing adherence to requirements, and advising management on needed action. Maintain customer confidence and protect operations by keeping financial information confidential. Use Accounting Software Systems, ERP - Enterprise Resource Planning, ERP Solutions, and Great Plains (GPAC) to perform accounting functions.Requirements Proficiency in Accounting Software Systems Familiarity with CapEx Experience with ERP - Enterprise Resource Planning Knowledge of ERP Solutions Understanding of Great Plains (GPAC) Ability to perform Accounting Functions Experience in Auditing Proficiency in managing Balance Sheet Account Familiarity with Budget Processes Strong understanding of Compliance standards in financial reporting Robert Half is the world’s first and largest specialized talent solutions firm that connects highly qualified job seekers to opportunities at great companies.
