Description We are offering a contract to hire employment opportunity for an Accounts Payable Clerk in West Sacramento, California. The individual will be responsible for managing and maintaining our company's accounts payable processes, ensuring compliance with financial policies and procedures, and interacting with internal stakeholders to resolve invoice-related queries.Responsibilities: Manage and process customer credit applications accurately and efficiently. Keep customer credit records up-to-date and accurate. Handle customer credit inquiries and resolve them promptly. Monitor customer credit accounts and initiate action for delinquent payments. Process outgoing payments in accordance with the company's financial policies and procedures. Perform daily financial transactions, including verifying, classifying, and recording accounts payable data. Reconcile the accounts payable ledger to ensure all bills and payments are accounted for and correctly posted. Investigate any discrepancies by reconciling vendor accounts and monthly vendor statements. Generate regular reports detailing the status of accounts payable. Understand and apply knowledge of expense accounts and cost centers. Ensure compliance with accounts payable processes such as W-9 and sales tax. Provide administrative support to the AP/Finance Department and facilitate internal and external audits as needed. Manage validating, recording, and mailing checks and expedite special handling. Maintain proper storage of invoices, checks, and other documents by organizing, logging, scanning, and filing them. Carry out additional tasks as assigned. Execute full-cycle A/P. Open, organize, and distribute department mail daily. Manage customer service tasks for internal business partners. Requirements Proficiency in handling Accounts Payable (AP) processes Experience in managing payable invoices Ability to maintain vendor files efficiently Demonstrated capability in managing vendor relationships Proficiency in using QuickBooks Strong organizational and multitasking abilities Attention to detail and high level of accuracy Excellent communication and interpersonal skills Ability to work independently and as part of a team Understanding of confidentiality regulations and practices Proven problem-solving skills Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, especially Excel Relevant certification or degree in accounting, finance or related field would be advantageous.
