Accounts Payable Clerk

Description We are offering a short term contract employment opportunity in the Healthcare, Hospitals, and Social Assistance industry for an Accounts Payable Clerk. This role will be based in Salinas, California. As an Accounts Payable Clerk, you will be responsible for handling vendor payments and ensuring that all financial transactions are properly documented and resolved. Responsibilities: Verify federal id numbers of vendors before processing payments to ensure accuracy Monitor discount opportunities to optimize cost savings in the payment process Schedule and prepare checks for vendor payments Resolve any discrepancies or issues related to purchase orders, contracts, invoices, or payments Ensure the receipt of credit for outstanding memos to maintain accurate financial records Use software like Microsoft Excel, Oracle, QuickBooks, and SAP for data entry and invoice processing Maintain a system for coding invoices to streamline the accounts payable process Perform regular account reconciliations to ensure all transactions are accounted for Check runs to maintain an organized record of all financial transactions. Requirements Minimum of 1 year of experience in an Accounts Payable role. Proficient with account reconciliation and accounts payable (AP). Experience with check runs and coding invoices. Strong data entry skills are required. Familiarity with invoice processing. Proficiency in Microsoft Excel. Experience with Oracle, QuickBooks, and SAP is preferred. Ability to work in a fast-paced healthcare, hospitals, and social assistance industry. Strong attention to detail and accuracy. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills. Ability to maintain confidentiality of sensitive information. Must have strong organizational skills and the ability to multitask. High school diploma or equivalent required; associate or bachelor's degree in accounting or a related field is preferred.
