Description We are seeking a detail-oriented and experienced Accounts Payable Specialist to join our finance team. The Accounts Payable Specialist will play a crucial role in managing the accounts payable process, ensuring accuracy and efficiency in our financial operations within the construction industry.Responsibilities:

Process vendor invoices accurately and in a timely manner, matching them with purchase orders and verifying receipt of goods or services

Review and reconcile vendor statements, resolving any discrepancies or issues with vendors as needed

Code invoices to the appropriate projects and cost codes, ensuring accurate allocation of expenses

Prepare and perform check runs, including printing, obtaining necessary approvals, and mailing or electronically transmitting payments

Maintain accurate and organized records of all accounts payable transactions, including filing and archiving documents as required

Communicate effectively with vendors and internal departments to resolve any billing or payment inquiries

Assist with month-end and year-end closing processes, including preparing accruals and reconciling accounts payable sub-ledger to the general ledger

Assist with other accounting tasks and projects as needed

Requirements

Qualifications:

High school diploma or equivalent required; Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field preferred

2+ years of experience in accounts payable or related finance roles, preferably in the construction industry

Proficiency in accounting software and Microsoft Office suite, particularly Excel

Strong attention to detail and accuracy

Excellent organizational and time management skills

Ability to prioritize tasks and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment

Knowledge of construction accounting principles and processes preferred

Effective communication and interpersonal skills
