Accounts Payable Specialist

Description We are offering a contract to hire employment opportunity for an Accounts Payable Specialist in the construction/contractor industry. This role is based in West Sacramento, California and will involve managing and processing vendor payments, maintaining accurate records, and ensuring compliance with financial policies and procedures. Responsibilities: Accurately and efficiently handle the processing of vendor invoices for services and products provided. Ensure that all necessary paperwork is received before issuing checks. Maintain historical records that pertain to the accounts payable function. Comply with financial policies and procedures when processing invoices. Regularly reconcile vendor statements to ensure financial obligations are current and recorded correctly. Build professional relationships with other departments, especially the Procurement and Project Management teams. Identify and rectify errors in purchase order and invoice matching. Perform daily financial transactions, including verifying, classifying, computing, posting, and recording accounts payable data. Resolve vendor billing issues and discrepancies in a timely manner. Coordinate travel arrangements for non-admin employees who do not possess an AMEX card and assist them with general travel inquiries. Requirements Proficiency in Account Coding and Accrual Accounting Expertise in Accounting Software Systems and ERP - Enterprise Resource Planning Experience with ADP - Financial Services and Concur Familiarity with Accounting Functions, especially Accounts Payable (AP) Knowledge of Auditing Procedures Experience with Automated Clearing House (ACH) transactions Ability to work in a construction/contractor industry environment Excellent organizational and multitasking abilities Strong communication and interpersonal skills Attention to detail and high level of accuracy.
