The Advanced Mission Technologies Lead will provide technical leadership and expertise to the Advanced Technology Branch as it works with innovative organizations that create novel and next-generation solutions for the Space Domain Awareness and Combat Power program portfolio (SDACP).

The Space Domain Awareness and Combat Power missions cover the entire threat response chain from the Space Domain Awareness function through the multidomain effects needed for space superiority. These programs include major system acquisitions for multiple ground and space segments, future architecture definition at the data/software/hardware levels, and research and technology for continuous evolution of space warfighting capabilities.

The job requires the ability to understand the needs of a variety of operational and program partners, passion for science and technology, and the ability to work independently in an ambitious program office environment.

What You'll Be Doing
  • Provide technical expertise and programmatic support to technology demonstration programs and operational experiments for the Advanced Technology Branch
  • Participate in technological efforts across the DoD to identify candidate solutions for application to SDACP programs
  • Work with mix of partner organizations including industry, Government labs, programs of record, and operators to define future mission concepts
  • Propose new development programs and assist Government advocacy efforts to fund and gain partner agreement

Telecommuting for this position could be up to 20%.

What You Need to be Successful - Project Leader

Minimum Requirements:
  • Bachelor's degree in engineering, mathematics, or physical sciences
  • 8 or more years of dynamically responsible related experience in systems engineering or program management
  • Proven ability to work in a program office environment with a mix of government, FFRDC, and SETA personnel
  • Travel is required
  • Current TS/SCI with Special Access Programs (SAP) eligibility, which are issued by the US government. U.S citizenship is required to obtain a security clearance

What You Need to be Successful - Senior Project Leader

Minimum Requirements:
  • Bachelor's degree in engineering, mathematics, or physical sciences
  • 12 or more years of dynamically responsible related experience in systems engineering or program management
  • Track record of forming and leading teams
  • Proven track record in a program office environment with a mix of government, FFRDC, and SETA personnel
  • Travel is required
  • Current TS/SCI with Special Access Programs (SAP) eligibility, which are issued by the US government. U.S citizenship is required to acquire a security clearance

How You Can Stand Out

It would be impressive if you have one or more of these:
  • Active TS/SCI or Special Access Programs clearances
  • Advanced degree in technical subject area (engineering, science or math)
  • Experience in research and development (R&D) or demonstration programs
  • An excellent personal technical reputation and a record of personal technical achievement
  • Prior experience in SDA or space control missions

Grade-Based Pay Range

(Min - Mid - Max)$103,285 - $202,011 - $281,070
