Responsible for the safety and security of staff and guests on the mountain, Ski Patrol are on alert and dependable professionals focused on prevention with the ability to remain calm in a crisis when incidents arise.Job Specifications:

Expected Pay Range: $23.00 - $27.94 / hour

Shift & Schedule Availability: Full Time

Required Certification Level: EMT

Required Ski Level – Expert

Expert Ski Level required

Other Specifics: Patrol members operate a variety of tasks in all terrain and all weather conditions. Due to the nature of this position candidates must be able to pass an expert level ski patrol test upon hire;

Other job specifications for Resort:

Must be able to work weekends and holidays

Must complete a four week Pass/Fail ski patrol training program if required

Job Responsibilities:

Supervise and promote guest safety on varied terrain with varying winter weather conditions

Assist injured/ill guests on the mountain

Transporting injured guests off the mountain

Maintain trails, including hazard identification and setting up closures, safety materials, and other impacts from the resort environment

Transporting supplies and heavy equipment to areas of need

Performing closing procedures at the end of the day to ensure that all guests are safely off the mountain

Enforcement of the Skier Responsibility Code and Resort Policies

Chairlift and guest evacuation

Operating snowmobiles to various areas of the mountain, as needed

Other duties as assigned

Other Responsibilities Specific to Resort:

Avalanche mitigation including safely transporting and placing explosives on the mountain to stabilize snow pack on skis.

Demonstrate a high level of understanding for companion and organized avalanche rescue.

Familiarity with our chair evacuation program.

Ability to contribute as a trainer to less experienced staff in a variety of disciplines.

Contributes to a positive culture of our department and resort.

Job Requirements:

3-5 years of previous patrol experience preferred

Pass resort Ski Patrol sponsored ski test, capable of skiing all types of terrain under all weather conditions.

Must be able to communicate fluently in English

Must be at least 18 years old

Must have excellent guest service skills

Must work well in a team environment

Must be able to work in inclement weather in a mountain environment

The expected pay range is $23.00 - $27.94. This is the pay range we reasonably expect to pay for this position.
