You will start by supporting the F-35 test portfolio, but the position has the opportunity to be involved with other projects over time. We want a person who is willing to provide experiential judgement, apply technical acumen, and make us better.The ideal candidate will be an experienced Life Support Equipment Specialist supporting the F-35 Lightning II Joint Strike Fighter Integrated Test Force at Edwards AFB, CA. The individual will perform duties as an expert on F-35 Aviation Life Support Systems in order to support F-35 flight test. Responsibilities are to maintain Pilot Flight Equipment (PFE) in a flightworthy condition per customer specifications, LM engineering drawings, JSF Technical Data (JTD), and vendor original equipment manuals. Perform engineering equipment updates, flight test requests, changes, repairs, and improvements to maximize equipment performance. Assist in the development and integration the next generation PFE as applicable. Specific tasking will include, but is not limited to:-Maintaining, inspecting, testing, certifying, repairing, and assembling aircrew life support equipment to include: HMD and standard fighter aircraft helmets, masks, and related oxygen and electronic communication devices; night vision cameras mounted on the HMD, survival equipment; g-suits; harnesses; anti-exposure suits; and flotation devices.-Instructing and training aircrew on ejection seat and land survival to include survival kits and components.-Parachute packing is a possibility.Must be willing to travel.Must be able to work a flexible schedule, to include early morning, nights, and weekends.A level 3 employee typically has 5 - 10 years of professional experience.Must be a US Citizen.
