Role : API Architect Long term Location : Rancho Cucamonga CA (onsite) Description API management professional to help in designing, publishing, documenting and analyzing APIs in a secure environment Performing API Maturity Assessment for company and come with efficient model. Oversees and manages API architects, developers and learning and development. Responsible for managing the training curriculum and guidance in API-led architecture and best practice design Responsibilities included

  • Lead a team of API and Integration developers in delivering large and complex API and integration solutions
  • Assist in defining the API roadmap, strategy and solution, evolution from SOA to APIs and in responding to RPFs / proposals
  • Provide assessment, strategies, advisory services and technical vision to prospects and customers as part of their digital strategy.
  • Design, implement, test and deploy APIs using the latest technologies and best practices.
  • Implement API management using API management software (like Apigee or others) to include API proxies, mashups, rate limiting, security, analytics, monetization and developer portals
  • Communicate risks, issues, challenges and status/progress of the project
  • Document requirements, design, architecture and test scripts
  • Involve in setting-up and managing DevOps
  • Research information on new, emerging technologies and methods in API management & Integration and provide architectural and design inputs for incorporating them into the metadata platform.
Experience needed
  • Strong interpersonal skills
  • Knowledge of API/integration principles, patterns and best practices
  • Deep experience of integration and API architecture - and a thorough understanding of industry trends, vendors, frameworks and practices
  • Provide technical leadership to onshore and offshore + SI developer team members
  • Worked in a DevOps setting
  • Understanding of agile delivery principles and quality software engineering processes and practice
Technical Skills and Knowledge
  • Expert knowledge on API design and development, integration patterns, solutions modeling, and best practices
  • Experience with either RAML or OAS
  • Knowledge of security (authentication and authorization, encryption)
  • Knowledge of infrastructure
  • 2 to 4 years of experience with an API management software like Apigee (and Apigee Hybrid/Anthos) or Mulesoft or WSO2 or equivalent with the knowledge of API mashups, analytics, developer networks, monetization models and security
  • Or 2 to 4 years of experience in iPaaS/ESB (MuleSoft or Dell Boomi or SnapLogic etc.).
  • 4 to 8 years of development experience using Java or .NET, XML, JSP or ASP, JavaScript or VB Script and Node.js; WSDL/SOAP/XML and REST/JSON or equivalent
  • Experience in HTTP/HTTPS protocol, web services and use of web servers
  • 2 to 4 years of know-how in implementing security and identity protocols such as OpenID, TLS, OAuth, SAML, SSO, PKI (encryption and key management), REST
  • Knowledge in SOA design and implementation and system integration using SOA
  • 2 to 5 years of project management and technical architecture experience
