Your Role

The Senior level Developer of the Manage My Health Portal Product application team is responsible for application service level achievement and customer satisfaction of Blue Shield of California's Manage My Health applications. This developer creates, configures, and manages the applications and related components and is accountable for delivering BSCA's desired business outcomes. This includes understanding the functionality of the technical solutions used to enable business processes. This role requires interaction with our IT and Business partners (BU/Functional Area leaders) in determining solid business requirements/ applications solutions that support end to end business processes and cross channel end to end user experience strategy. Building and maintaining strong partnerships with business/functional unit and technical stakeholders, drives alignment around release roadmap and solution design of Manage My Health Product applications.

Your Work In this role, you will:

  • Adopt and apply software engineering concepts and processes to software development
  • Provide input to designs and technical specifications
  • Develop user interfaces and application programs using the technical specifications and design documents provided
  • Tests, debugs, and maintains code according to the technical specifications
  • Provide knowledge transfer to less experienced staff
  • Identify opportunities for and participate in proof-of-concepts and demos to showcase potential business value of new technologies, methodologies, and applications/tools.
  • Monitor software configuration changes to anticipate and address the impact of data reliability and customer satisfaction issues
  • Coordinate sustaining support for 1-2 application platforms or business processes
  • Demonstrate leadership skills on services development, services adoption and service governance
  • Proactively addresses potential system issues to meet or exceed established timelines and delivers service within budget constraints and seeks ways to reduce application related costs

QUALIFICATIONS

Your Knowledge and Experience

  • Requires a bachelor's degree or equivalent experience
  • Requires at least 5 years of experience in computer related support field
  • Experience working in an Agile environment a plus. Deep knowledge of the software development life cycle in general required
  • Core J2EE development of at least 5 years. Experience with SOAP and REST, Spring Framework, Hibernate
  • Experience with Full Stack development and microservices (Java, Angular preferred)
  • SQL and RDBMS experience of at least 2 years (Oracle preferred)
  • A Proficiency with development tool environments (e.g. Jira, Confluence) & Version Control tools (e.g. Bitbucket, Git, SVN)

Pay Range: The pay range for this role is: 96800.00 to 145200.00 for California.

Blue Shield salaries are based on a variety of factors, including the candidate's experience, location (California, Bay area, or outside California), and current employee salaries for similar roles.
