The Marketing, Digital & Customer Care mobile development team leads the development of our Blue Shield of California mobile application. The Senior Application Developer (Mobile) will report to the IT Application Services Lead. In this role, you will be a key team member in setting the direction of our mobile application/platform and developing the key features of the application in partnership with our Business and IT partners. In this role, you will:

Adopt and apply software engineering concepts and processes to software development
Provide input to designs and technical specifications
Develop user interfaces and application programs using the technical specifications and design documents provided
Tests, debugs and maintains code according to the technical specifications
Provide knowledge transfer to less experienced staff
Deliver across the complete app life cycle - conceptual design, build, deploy, test, and release to Apple app and Google play
Participate in the design of software components and work with the UX team to help translate requirements into technical design and tasks
Work with product/project manager/scrum master during the development of user stories, estimates, and work plans.
Design, develop and unit test applications in accordance with established coding standards.
Analyze and resolve technical and application problems.
Develop and maintain configuration / development documentation and functional design documents
Provide status and information to your manager and/or appropriate team members on a regular basis thru daily stand-up meetings and one-on-one meetings
Proactively explore methods and tools to improve the overall development process
Independently manage work to meet project schedules
Standardize the apps to deliver across multiple operating systems with minimal duplication of effort
Review and sign-off technical design, testing results, and other project or support deliverables/activities
