Length: 3 months contract-to-hire to PermanentTitle: Applications Tester / Product Evaluation Scientist - Mass SpectrometryLocation: San Jose, CA / Chromatography and Mass Spectrometry How will you make an impact?As an experienced, dynamic, and self-motivated individual, you will be part of the test team to support the product development process for Mass Spectrometry Instrument Control Software. You will collaborate with multiple teams across sites in San Jose, CA; Austin, TX; and Bremen, Germany to test state-of-the-art mass spectrometry software products. What will you do?Essential Duties and Responsibilities• Participate in all phases of the product development from product definition to final release• Responsible for coordinating with the project team to ensure the quality of the product• Communicate project status and issues to other functional teams, stakeholders, and management• Responsible for testing software products and its full documentation• Other miscellaneous duties as assigned Decision Making Authority• Evaluation and Acceptance of Requirements as Complete• Pass/Failure of Software Test Cases• Author/ contribute to project documents and status reports• Participate in project planning and responsible for test progress tracking How will you get here?EducationBS/MS in Chemistry/Life Sciences or relevant technical discipline, Ph.D. is highly preferred Experience• 4+ years of analytical chemistry experience utilizing various analytical techniques and instrumentation (LC-MS is highly preferred)• A thorough comprehension of qualitative and quantitative analytical chemistry• Strong understanding and ability to apply statistical mathematics• Effective analytical, reasoning, and problem-solving skills to bolster decision-making capabilities• Demonstrated ability to provide technical direction and feedback• Previous experience in defect tracking systems, test management tools, software test methodologies, and software testing is preferred• Familiarity with the entire software development process in an Agile environment is preferred Knowledge, Skills, Abilities• Knowledgeable with Quality System Regulation (ISO 9001, IS 13485, IEC 62304) and FDA (21 CFR Part 820 and 21 CFR Part 11) expectations for software and hardware validation is a plus• Excellent leadership and communication skills• Motivated, Driven, Autonomous work competency
