Assistant Teacher

The Ideal Candidate:

Would have training and experience working in early childhood education

Would have knowledge of local flora and fauna

Would have knowledge of the Waldorf educational philosophy

Would be able to play an instrument

Would speak a foreign language

Qualifications: Position Requires most of the following:

Some experience working with children between the ages of 2-7 years old

Comfortable being outdoors in all weather

Comfortable interacting with nature including holding insects, sitting on the ground, getting wet and muddy

Willingness to participate in trainings relevant to forest schools

Willingness to increase knowledge of naturalist and native skills

Physical ability to hike up to two miles daily, bend, squat, and lift up to 50 lbs.

Comfortable singing and dancing with a group of children and parents

Willingness to complete CPR and FA training, fingerprinting, and mandated reporter training

28-32 hours/week

$2500-$3000/month salary DOE
