Associate Director, Campaign Development

Salary Range: $120,640 - $135,200 per year

How you'll make an impact: At the client's Connected Vehicle Services division, the Associate Director is in charge of the team that develops campaigns. By creating, automating, and administering marketing campaigns in a high volume, high-speed environment using contemporary consumer segmentation and audience management technologies, the Campaign Development team supports company objectives.This position is crucial to the success of the company and reports to the Senior Director of Marketing Operations. The position will collaborate closely with managers from throughout the Marketing department and has a number of direct reports. This position also oversees the improvement of internal procedures and the development of marketing technology platforms.The ideal applicant combines abilities like team management, analytical thinking, and consumer marketing principles. They exhibit the ability to transition between thinking about strategic business drivers, effectively communicating with a variety of internal and external stakeholders, and working with the team to tackle difficult technical problems.This position may be a good fit for someone who has a track record of connecting the technical world of complicated customization techniques and data-driven campaign code with the business world of consumer targeting and requirements.

What you'll do:

Campaign Development
  • Oversee the campaign development team responsible for producing marketing campaigns across a variety of OEM brands, reaching millions of consumers to drive engagement and conversion
  • Participate in requirements gathering and product functionality discussions, ensuring that database level analysis is conducted and campaign segmentation logic and design accurately meet the business need
  • Utilize deep knowledge of lifecycle marketing and data-driven customer segmentation concepts and complex personalization to ensure marketing campaigns are targeted and defect-free
  • Guide the execution team in optimizing the campaign development process, from requirements, technical specifications, to building campaign segments for multiple channels, testing output files, and preparing campaign output for channel activation
  • Manage and optimize a high-volume production deployment process to ensure successful releases
  • Provide hands-on, proactive support to the campaign production support team and operations teams

Project & Stakeholder Management
  • Manage workflows that produce campaigns enabling CV to achieve target marketing KPIs for each marketing channel, working with Project Management leads to optimize process from ideation and intake to deployment
  • Work cross-functionally with teams across the organization to ensure key learnings are applied to department practices and platforms, including marketing stakeholders to continuously improve marketing performance through thoughtful test design, execution and readouts
  • Liaise with IT on systems enhancements
  • Participate in strategic and program planning, including development of project plans, roadmaps, prioritization of initiatives and associated presentations

What you'll need:

Requirements and General Skills:
  • Experience with fast-paced, high-volume production environment and meeting deadlines with accurate work that meets business objectives.
  • Campaign Development experience in either subscription, triggered or equivalent marketing industry.
  • Strong communication skills - ability to explain complex technical issues to both technical and non-technical audiences as well have the ability understand issues from a Marketing and customer experience perspective
  • Strong analytical thinking
  • Ability to work with minimal supervision and demonstrate initiative and good judgment
  • Interpersonal skills and ability to interact and work with staff at all levels
  • Commitment to "internal client" and customer service principles
  • Excellent time management skills, with the ability to prioritize
  • Ability to work in Agile environment

Technical Skills:
  • Reviewing and interpreting business requirements and/or technical specifications
  • Experience working with CRM/Multi-Channel Campaign Management products; experience with Teradata marketing applications (CIM - Customer Interaction Manager) is preferred
  • 7+ years' experience with building, testing and deploying marketing campaigns and/or data projects
  • Data/SQL expertise - comfort with SQL for data analysis (a "data person" comfortable learning a business through its data)
  • Hands-on experience with building data sources and extract formats, campaign trouble shooting and deployment, and understanding of campaign migration processes
  • Hands on experience and knowledge of SQL (Teradata SQL Assistant preferred) - ability to query against SQL database using multiple joins to target records based on given criteria
  • Experience with project/task management platforms such as Workfront
  • Thorough knowledge of MS-Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Access)

Supervisory Responsibilities:
  • Manage 2-3 direct reports and an overall team of 7 FTEs
  • Supervise external resources including 3-4 vendor resources and 1-2 temporary contractors

Minimum Qualifications:
  • BS/BA (Marketing, Computer Information Systems, Business, or similar degree preferred) or equivalent experience with demonstrated proficiency
  • Must have legal right to work in the U.S.
