Job DescriptionSummary:The Associate Director, Data Science and AI is responsible for leading the development and implementation of cutting-edge, data-driven solutions that leverage digital technology, advanced analytics, machine learning, natural language processing, and other AI techniques to enhance the quality, efficiency, and value of GAMA medical initiatives. The Associate Director drives leadership in AI-based scientific innovations and engagements across medical affairs, proposing solutions and strategies to tackle business challenges while collaborating with cross-functional teams. This role will own, optimize, and manage day-to-day operations of GAMA technology/digital projects as the business function lead to align on strategic goals and deliver cohesive and innovative solutions. This role will also drive GAMA operational excellence, process optimization, budgeting, reporting, and vendor relationships.Key Responsibilities:

Define and own the standard of excellence for data science, digital strategy and innovation, and AI.

Lead the GAMA Advanced Analytics Program, defining and developing global reporting business requirements for Field Medical systems (i.e. CRM).

Implement key metrics/KPIs to quantify and communicate Field Medical performance and impact.

Continually evolve and advance Field Medical AI capabilities to ensure high-quality and impactful insights.

Ensure systems facilitate engagement planning, data sharing, scientific interaction documentation, and accurate reporting and auditing.

Lead the Digital/AI transformation within GAMA, serving as the end-to-end program lead and drive a culture of innovation and continuous improvement, challenging and improving established best practices for large-scale strategic programs.

Inspire solutions, action, and execution to enable data-driven closed-loop execution leveraging data, advanced analytics, and AI to improve operational efficiency.

Inform medical AI strategies by staying abreast of external trends and technologies and evaluating and adopting new emerging technologies, tools, and methodologies that enhance capabilities for Medical Affairs.

Maintain a deep understanding of regulatory and compliance standards and operate within the data and AI governance framework ensuring field medical operating model remains compliant.

Effectively communicate and deliver relevant and clear data reports, AI insights and results to various audiences, including senior leadership and cross-functional partners.

Effectively collaborate with multiple cross-functional teams and serve as the bridge between Business Technology Solutions (BTS), R&D, GAMA, vendors, etc to drive operational excellence and process optimization

Qualifications

Master’s degree preferred with 6+ years of combined experience required in related area emphasizing creative and strategic mindset, experience in Medical Affairs preferred

Minimum of 5 years of experience related to the implementation of Digital and AI/ML tools/technologies within the medical affairs space

Strong scientific/medical or technology background and the ability to critically review and analyze the Medical Affairs industry

Excellence-focused with strong project management skills and a proven track record of delivering high-quality projects while meeting timelines

Ability to navigate and be successful in a fast-paced, highly-matrixed work environment

Excellent written, oral, and presentation skills with the ability to communicate complex AI concepts and information to cross-functional teams and senior business executives

Ability to quickly build rapport and credibility with key internal and external stakeholders through strong interpersonal skills, experience working with BTS and IT teams preferred

Essential Skills and Abilities:

Ability to convey technology information effectively and interact and communicate effectively with senior executive teams

Proven experience as Data Analyst or Data Scientist

Hands-on experience with data science and data visualization tools

Ability to think creatively and conceptually

Advanced PowerPoint and design skills

Excellent communication skills, both oral and written, with a proven ability/track record to effectively present to audiences of varying levels

Proven ability to manage and prioritize workload, multi-task, and manage a diverse mix of issues, responsibilities, and challenges

Strong analytical, problem resolution, and organizational skills

Detail-oriented

Strong interpersonal skills and ability to work well in a matrixed organization

Ability to work effectively with cross-functional teams and interface in a dynamic and fast-paced environment across departments

Ability to travel: 25%
