Our team builds and maintains the foundational technologies that support the tech organization. Included in this are data platforms, enterprise architecture, DevOps, cloud computing, and infrastructure. All of these products and services are supported by scalable and powerful infrastructure, ensuring a secure and seamless employee and customer experience across stores, digital channels, and distribution centers.What you'll do:

Provide the foundational infrastructure that powers all of Walmart's data needs globally by overseeing the design, development, and operations of large-scale operational data systems and applications operating at millions of IOPS, and large-scale data processing on Big Data systems. Responsibility for driving forward architectures, vision, strategy, roadmap and execution for Databases, Messaging, Machine Learning and Gen AI related Platform products and technologies.

The position will provide technology leadership, guidance, blueprints, best practices and expertise on strategic projects, shape, and drive data alignment between all Global Technology functions to build the next generation data platform as the future digital backbone. The position owns the platform architecture, design, and implementation of the transactional, operational and analytical Big data/ML infrastructure to drive innovation in a large footprint of 100,000+ data systems handling exabytes of data.

Mentor & Teach Engineers. The goal is that the Associate Fellow will not only be instrumental in improving and transforming the systems of the orgs they are aligned to, but also upskill the existing engineering population within those teams.

Engineering experience with a focus on large scale product development.

Should have a keen eye for new technology trends and how they can be used to help grow the business, and a proven ability to be a game changer.

A technical expert with in-depth knowledge in building distributed systems and products using hybrid cloud technology handling massive amounts of data. Should have built a complex microservices based platform or product.

Strong knowledge about

Azure, GCP (or AWS)

Retail domain

Digital transformation

Strong technical background with the capability of being hands-on as required.

Ability to set and drive technical vision and provide technical mentorship to all levels of engineering talent. Should have established credibility as a central resource, utilized by teams to seek advisory on complex technical issues and projects.

Depth focus and an attitude to understand and resolve complex technical issues.

Experience of working with globally distributed teams.

Excellent interpersonal skills, good with people, ability to negotiate.
