Job Description

What Your Impact Will Be:

  • Leads the development and implementation of marketing and other programs to enable licensing businesses to meet/exceed objectives.
  • Assists in the negotiation of complex contracts and monitors contractual obligations; may also negotiate new contracts.
  • Conducts financial and market analysis of product categories to make recommendations on partnership and product development strategies.
  • Organizes the product development process; maintains schedules & timelines for product design & development.
  • Identifies and evaluates new business and product opportunities through research and analysis of trends and market opportunities; maintains communications with key partners to understand performance/trends, business opportunities and issues.
  • Collaborates with brand integrity team to resolve distribution, product development and product performance issues and assists licensees to achieve financial goals; acts as liaison between outside partners and internal departments.
  • Supporting Softlines team in various activities including marketing, PR, retail development, event management, and buyer relationships
  • May be responsible for Softlines licensee and category management (Accessories, footwear, and baby)

Qualifications

What We’re Looking For:

  • BA/BSpreferred or equivalent experience
  • 3+ yrs of experience in consumer products / licensing
  • General understanding of licensing processes and procedures as well as laws and regulations.
  • General knowledge of licensing and fashion industry.
  • General knowledge of Mattel brands and strategies.
  • General understanding of the organizational structure and business objectives of licensees and other key business partners.
  • Effective negotiation skills.
  • Effective analytical and research skills and ability to identify trends.
  • General planning skills.
