Maxar is currently seeking a candidate who can apply their knowledge and experience to the development of Attitude and Controls Systems (ACS) for cutting edge low Earth orbit solutions, complex geosynchronous communications satellites, and beyond Earth science missions to join our Space Program Delivery team in Palo Alto, CA or San Jose, CA. The ideal candidate will have experience in applying the systems engineering discipline to complex systems and is familiar with ACS methods, hardware components, and their practical applicationResponsibilities:- Design, analysis, and verification of satellite attitude control systems (ACS)
- Coordinate implementation of ACS related FDIR (Failure Detection, Isolation, and Recovery) systems
- Develop and flow down system and test requirements to flight software, unit design, production, and operations engineers
- Support cross-functional teams to implement and test control topologies and ACS flight software
- Support cross-functional teams to develop and qualify new ACS sensors and actuators
- Foreign and domestic travel 4 times a year may be required
- Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, Physics, or a related discipline
- 5 years of relevant experience. (A Master's degree may count as 2 years of experience.)
- Experience in dynamics, feedback control systems, spacecraft attitude control methods, or orbital mechanics
- Experience executing the systems engineering discipline, with focus on requirements generation, evaluation, decomposition, synthesis, and flow down
- Experience leading cross functional teams
- Experience in guidance, navigation & control systems for spacecraft attitude control
