Description A venerable multi-service law firm headquartered in downtown San Jose, is actively recruiting for a mid-level (3-5 years) associate with substantive business litigation experience. We are offering an exciting opportunity to be involved in various aspects of civil litigation, case management, and document management. This role requires the application of established legal skills and knowledge.Responsibilities: Preparing and processing legal documents such as pleadings, discovery demands, and responses Participating in court appearances and taking on the task of defending depositions Engaging in motion practice and maintaining a strong working knowledge of the California Code of Civil Procedure and Evidence Code Preparing for and participating in mediations and settlement negotiations Utilizing case management software and other document management tools for organizing and managing legal documents Handling and resolving customer inquiries and complaints efficiently Monitoring customer accounts and taking appropriate action when necessary Administering claims and conducting briefings as per the requirements of the case Negotiating settlements and conducting depositions as part of the legal process.Requirements Must hold a Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school. Must possess a valid license to practice law in the state. A minimum of 3 years of experience in practicing law, preferably in civil litigation and claim administration. Proven experience in case management software and document management. Proficiency in drafting and preparing pleadings. Experience in complaint handling and motion practice. Demonstrated experience in discovery, court appearances, and negotiating settlements. Experience conducting depositions. Strong negotiation and communication skills. Excellent knowledge of legal procedures and terminology. Ability to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines. Exceptional research skills and attention to detail. Must have a high level of professionalism and confidentiality. Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
