Notes: Must sit onsite and WILL NOT provide relocation. Description:Company is looking for an Audio Visual Service Engineer that can provide top of the line technical support for one of their biggest clients in the education space, The Wharton School, at their San Francisco Campus. The Wharton School provides support to over 14,000 students on the west coast both personally and virtually. The Engineer is basically a high level service technician. They will be responsible for maintaining top of the line communications systems running on campus. They will need to be able to provide IT support and help solve customer issues with AV equipment including Control systems, touch screen devices, projectors, speakers, microphones, Blue-ray playes and amps. They will need to be able to diagnose, adjust, repair, and or escalate issues to higher tiers of support when they can't solve an issue, and only once they have exhausted all solutions. They will also be needed at times to monitor meetings through their CRM system which allows them to view and monitor every single device on campus. They may also need to provide hands on technical support including termination of some basic cables

They need to have solid knowledge in Polycom, Biamp, and QSC AV conferencing systems. They should be familiar with how to install, troubleshoot and resolve issues in applications such as Zoom and Microsoft Teams.

The Wharton School also uses Pro3, SP3N, and RMC3 Processors, and the Pro4 is coming in the future

This person also needs to have experience with specific AV control systems including, the rooms at The Wharton use mainly Crestron DM systems, some of these will be converted into NVX systems. The technician should have knowledge of video and Acoustic principles.

The technician should have experience with Extron for Distribution of Amps, QSC and Biamp for DSP's

Experience Panasonic projectors, Panasonic/Sharp for LCD displays and work with Cisco Switches

A general knowledge of TCP/IP Networking, ISDN T1/E1, Ethernet and H.320 (H.320 is an umbrella recommendation by the ITU-T for running Multimedia (Audio/Video/Data) over ISDN based networks), H.323, and SIP protocol.

They will also need to provide a level of Quality Control for any new systems that are installed.

San Francisco Campus: The Wharton School has 44 rooms on campus that the technician would be responsible for managing.

The technician needs to have a strong drive to get things done without supervision and instruction. They need to be able to think on the fly, keep the system working during classes and be able to go back after and properly troubleshoot and repair the systems.

There is a combination of old devices and new devices being installed and integrated into the network.

Work flow consists of maintaining older systems, communicating with end users

The technician will need to be able to identify, prioritize, and identify which tasks are considered maintenance and which tasks are considered emergencies.

The best technician should be fluent in Crestron and it is highly recommended that they need Cisco experience.

Hiring Managers at AV Integrators will often look for Field Engineers and/or Lead AV Technicians with this training.)
