Description We are seeking a Sr. Auditor for a position in the Financial Services industry, located in Los Angeles, California. The role involves assisting our banking team with SOX audit testing work. This is a contract position, offering the opportunity to utilize and develop skills in Risk Analysis in a dynamic workplace environment.Responsibilities: Conduct thorough SOX audit testing on various departments such as accounts payable, HR, investment, treasury, loan servicing, and assets. Use automated workpaper software for efficient and systematic audit process. Monitor and evaluate the effectiveness of the organization's internal controls and check for breaches or weaknesses. Collaborate with the team to identify areas of risks and ways to mitigate them. Document and report on the results of audit tests, including noting any inconsistencies or instances of neglectful conduct. Review and analyze data to ensure accuracy and compliance with regulations. Provide recommendations to improve and strengthen internal audit processes. Maintain a comprehensive understanding of the financial services industry to keep up with changes in regulations and practices. Communicate effectively with different departments to gather necessary information for audits. Adhere to all company standards and procedures, while also meeting federal and state regulations. Requirements Possess a Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Business Administration, or a related field. Hold a Certified Public Accountant (CPA) or Certified Internal Auditor (CIA) qualification. Have a minimum of five years of experience in auditing, preferably within the financial services industry. Demonstrable experience in risk analysis and management. Proficiency in using auditing software and Microsoft Office Suite. AuditBoard highly preferred. Excellent understanding of auditing principles, standards, and techniques. Familiarity with regulatory standards in the financial services industry. Strong analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills. Excellent written and verbal communication skills. Ability to work independently and as part of a team. High level of integrity and professional ethics. Willingness to stay updated with industry trends and developments.
