One of the world's foremost electric vehicle manufacturers is searching for an Automotive Test Engineer to join their team in Belmont, CA to support the development of their new vehicle systems during an ongoing contract. This position centers around software testing and debugging, operating the infotainment test-bench systems, and using state-of-the-art analysis tools to complete diagnostics on the new systems. Responsibilities:

  • Plan, coordinate and execute laboratory and in-vehicle testing of Connected Infotainment systems and components
  • Create and update test procedures, plans, and routes in order to effectively perform laboratory and test drives with a focus on North American market specifications
  • Execute tests and coordinate along with lab and field tests of Connected Infotainment systems and components
  • Establish and maintain an error reporting database, be aware of objective quality results and deliver to state-of-the-art, future infotainment and Connected/Cloud services.
  • Discovers errors, pre-analyze system behavior and data logs, perform root-cause analysis and bug-fix verification
  • Ensure functionality of test setups (systems and vehicles) and can maintain and operate infotainment test-bench systems
  • Prepare vehicles for test drives and participate in test drives in a variety of brands
  • Build-up, package, and integrate new prototypes into cars
Requirements:
  • Bachelor's Degree in Engineering or Science (Electrical/Electronic, Telecommunications, Automotive, Information Technologies) or equivalent, Master's preferred
  • 3-4 years of experience with development teams in consumer level electronics, preferably Infotainment and/or telematics systems
  • A strong knowledge of automotive Infotainment systems and End to End Verification of Connected Vehicles.
  • Ability to interpret technical specifications.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, social and interpersonal skills
