Job Description
  • The AWS Cloud Engineer will be part of the existing infrastructure team that is charged with supporting, building and migrating applications, software, and services on the AWS platform, ensuring that solutions are designed for successful deployment in the cloud.
  • Success will focus on solutions that comply with security, governance, maintainability and scalability within the overall organization while retaining awareness of cost and business continuity.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities
  • As part of a team, execute implementation plans in the AWS environment for a variety of initiatives ranging from load-balanced EC2 scaling groups to Lambda functions
  • Achieve expert knowledge of existing CloudFormations scripts, processes and procedures in the enterprise
  • Supporting the existing AWS environment as needed

MUST HAVES:

Education and/or Experience
  • Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science or 5+ years of relevant experience.
  • 'Hands-on keyboard' AWS implementation experience across a broad range of AWS services
  • Production AWS experience with at least 2 years of implementation (preferred in an enterprise-scale environment)
  • Experience with core AWS platform architecture, including areas such as: Organizations, Account Design, VPC, Subnet, segmentation strategies
  • Strong experience with EC2s, ELBs, and SGs. Must have the ability to provide recommendations on instance types, load balancing options, etc.
  • Familiarity with executing Stacks, StackSets, CloudFormation scripts, etc.
  • Familiarity with network connectivity, AWS Direct Connect and AWS Site-to-Site VPNs
  • Familiarity with encryption specifically AWS KMS
  • Familiarity with logging with CloudWatch, CloudTrail, etc.
  • Experience and strong familiarity with HIPAA, HITRUST, etc.
  • Demonstrated ability to adapt to new technologies and learn quickly
  • Team oriented with an emphasis on collaboration, open mindedness and knowledge sharing

Optional Qualifications
  • Knowledge of DevOps and CI/CD pipeline (GitHub, Azure DevOps, etc.)
  • Scripting capability and the ability to develop AWS environments as code
  • CloudFormation development and third-party automation approach/strategy, i.e. Ansible
  • Good knowledge of REST/SOAP/JSON web service API implementation.
