Baker @ Palace Market in Point Reyes Station

Join Palace Market's small, dedicated bakery crew that's responsible for crafting baked goods, desserts, and myriad of accompaniments required by our espresso and gelato programs.

Responsibilities include:

Preparing a variety of breads, baked goods, desserts, and sauces/syrups according to established recipes and quality standards.

Working with leadership to develop seasonal menu changes and additions to the daily menu.

Packaging and presenting baked goods attractively, maintaining freshness and quality standards.

Assisting with catering and special orders.

Checking in deliveries and rotating into existing stock.

Maintaining a sparkling clean and meticulously organized work area

Following all food safety and sanitation guidelines with minimal oversight from leadership.

The ideal candidate:

Has at least one year of professional kitchen experience. Experienced home bakers are welcome to apply, but will be required to perform additional skills verification tests

Balances creative ambition with the reality that production work must be reliably completed.

Takes ownership and pride in their work and position.

Encourages growth in self and others.

Leads oneself with humility and grace.

Thrives in a high-volume/busy environment.

Requirements:

You have a current Servsafe cert, or are capable of passing the test on first day of employment.

Reliable transportation (or live locally)

You're able to comfortably converse and read in English.

Can stand, bend, twist, reach for 8 hours a day.

Can lift at least 50lbs

Available to work weekends and holidays. Hours are flexible, but preferred start time is between 4-6am
