Position Title: Bartender

Location: Baywood Golf and Country Club, Arcata, CA

Job Type: Part-time, 20+ hours per week with occasional 30+ hour weeks depending on events

Job Summary:

Baywood Golf and Country Club is seeking a professional and experienced Bartender to join our front-of-house team. This is a part-time position, starting at 20 or more hours per week. Additional hours are often available depending on scheduled events such as weddings, tournaments, or private functions, and we will communicate those needs in advance.

This is a full-service bar, and we’re looking for someone with at least two years of bartending experience in a fast-paced environment who can craft a variety of classic and modern cocktails, serve beer and wine, take food orders, and provide warm, consistent service to our members and guests. You’ll also help manage inventory and contribute to the bar’s weekly and event drink specials.

In addition to hourly wages, you will earn tips during regular bar service and gratuity from events, which is automatically added at 20 percent and split among staff.

Pay:

Starting at $16.50+ per hour, depending on experience

Earn tips during regular bar and food service

Earn additional gratuity from events, which include an automatic 20 percent gratuity split between event staff

Responsibilities:

Provide exceptional bar service for members and guests

Mix, garnish, and serve alcoholic and non-alcoholic drinks accurately and efficiently

Take food orders and serve tables when needed

Maintain cleanliness and organization of the bar area

Monitor and help manage bar inventory and restock needs

Create weekly cocktail specials and signature drinks for events

Handle cash and credit transactions accurately and responsibly

Ensure compliance with health, safety, and alcohol service regulations

Maintain a friendly, professional, and team-oriented attitude

Qualifications:

Minimum 2 years of bartending experience in a full-service bar

Confident in making a range of cocktails with consistency and speed

Excellent customer service skills and a strong understanding of hospitality

Comfortable working under pressure in a fast-paced environment

Dependable and punctual with good communication skills

Willing to work evenings, weekends, and during special events

Experience with banquet or event bar service is a plus
