Bay area start up seeking a Hardware Test Automation Engineer to join R&D team to focus on testing leading-edge environmental sensor products using production ATEs and in-house built environmental sensor test systems.

Responsibilities:
  • Develop automated test programs for mix-signal environmental sensor products on both standard semiconductor equipment and in-house built test systems using Python in a Windows environment.
  • Collaborate with third-party vendors on test program development, verification and validation.
  • Work in close collaboration with engineering team members to ensure the test systems meet product test requirements.
  • Perform test time reduction, yield improvement and cost reduction activities.
  • Recommend changes required in testing equipment, test procedures or test methodologies to improve test quality and efficiency.
  • Perform statistical analysis, debug and lot dispositioning.
  • Provide training and mentor production operations staff.
  • Develop SW tools, libraries and new features to help with test automation.

Qualifications:
  • Candidate must possess at least a Bachelor's degree in a relevant discipline and have at least 5+ years industry experience.
  • 5+ years’ experience programming with production ATEs (Teradyne) and or Python.
  • Experience developing test programs, data collection and processing using scripting languages like Python.
  • Experience with serial communication standards such as I2C, SWD, UART, USB protocols.
  • Hands-on problem-solving skills including test programs, test hardware and test equipment.
  • Excellent analytical, troubleshooting and debugging skills and the ability to proactively solve issues.
  • Strong competency in statistical analysis, extracting, organizing, and manipulating data.
  • Strong collaborative and team work attributes with good communication and documentation skills.
  • Prefer test development experience with gas, MEMS or optical sensors.
