The Benefits Manager is responsible for leading the organization on employee benefits programs.Design a competitive benefits program for our employeesResearch to validate benefits practices are in compliance with current legislationDetermine efficiencies and streamlining of processes as it relates to our benefits programAdminister Benefits: serve as the primary contact for employees, benefit plan vendors, and third-party administrators regarding all benefits issues; investigate discrepancies and provide information in non-routine situations; coach employees through changing benefit elections in ADP, as needed; reconcile monthly bills; routine audits of benefitsOversee the accurate preparation of qualified plans' IRS and ERISA-mandated submissions and employee communications, including: IRS Annual Return - Form 5500, Summary Annual Reports (SARs), Summary Plan Descriptions (SPDs), Summary of Benefit Coverage (SBCs) and Summary of Material Modifications (SMMs). Oversee the preparation of census reports for 401(k) mid-year and end-of-year testing, including the external 401(k) audit.Develop and implement new and/or existing rewards programs, policies and procedures to ensure that programs are market-competitive, internally equitable, and cost-effectiveOversee health and welfare/retirement plan administration and complianceAudits, testing, and 5500 filingERISA - plan document updates, amendments, notice requirements, SPDs work with benefits team on escalated carrier issuesACA administration: Responsible for all ACA reporting and keeps abreast of regulatory changes affecting benefit plans and ensures company benefit plans and practices are in compliance with external regulatory requirements 1095 C prepReview/maintain measurement periodsManage/Oversee the annual Open Enrollment process - end to endPartner with brokers on renewals, negotiations, benefit plan setup, enrollment communication strategy, EDI file/account structure changes, and maintenance, including COBRA open enrollmentPartner and manage benefit consultant/carrier/vendor relationships, making sure service level is met Manage leave of absence programs in compliance with FMLA and other state-specific family and medical leave lawsAdminister end-to-end LOA in-house, verify eligibility, work with employees and managers on LOA process, documentation, deductions, and return to work verification,Partner with Payroll team as it pertains to benefits and time off functionality in ADP WFN, modify the system, maintain benefit reports, dashboards and oversee updatesOversee companies benefit technology (ADP WFN and enhanced time off platform)Update/modify the system, review technical issues, run audit reports, etc.Identify and resolve information system issues affecting benefits administrationDevelop and oversee benefit communicationsWork with team on various benefit communication throughout the yearParticipate in designing benefit plan and total rewards Monitor benefit plan designs and makes recommendations based on current trends, utilization, and effectivenessBenefits subject matter expert on questions and issues for the organizationDraft and/or recommend revisions to company benefit policies to ensure compliance with federal, state, and local laws and regulationsFacilitate presentations: Develops and coordinates communications designed to educate and inform employees about total rewardsProvide leadership to benefits staff through coaching and mentoringManage and develop the benefits team with an exceptional ability to execute the strategic plan and individual accountability for delivering results within attainable deadlines and/or industry standards.
