Description We are offering a role for a diligent Billing Analyst to join our team in the legal industry, based in Los Angeles, California. The role involves handling various billing tasks including appeals, e-billing, and client communication. This opportunity offers a short-term contract employment opportunity.Responsibilities: Handle appeals and communicate with clients daily to resolve submission processes. Process, upload, and submit appeals and adjustments to portals as required. Monitor and maintain a monthly checklist of appeals due for all legal billing portals. Manage and submit requests for write-offs from submitted appeals or open balances in financial systems. Print and upload invoices in LEDES format, and solve any errors in collaboration with the billing team. Prepare weekly reports on missing, adjusted, and invoices needing attention. Support Accounts Receivable and Billing teams as needed, particularly in collection processes if time and workflow permit. Generate monthly bills and balance and apply time before prebill generation. Act as the primary contact for site management and handle billing submissions to various legal billing portals. Manage e-billing site including updating timekeeper status, rates, budgets, and user profiles. Handle the generation and editing of monthly prebills.Skills: Proficiency in accounting software systems Experience in accounts receivable and billing functions Familiarity with claim administration Expertise in collection processes Requirements Proficiency in Accounting Software Systems Understanding and experience in Accounts Receivable (AR) Familiarity with Billing Functions within the legal industry Experience in Claim Administration Knowledge of Collection Processes Strong analytical skills and attention to detail Excellent written and verbal communication skills Ability to work well in a team and independently Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field preferred Legal industry experience is a plus Strong organizational skills and ability to prioritize tasks Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel Ability to maintain confidentiality in handling sensitive financial information.
