Bookkeeper

Description We are offering a contract employment opportunity for a Bookkeeper in Santa Barbara, California. This role is pivotal to the construction industry, where you will be handling all aspects of general bookkeeping.Responsibilities: Oversee all aspects of business management for our construction contracting operations. Handle general bookkeeping duties, including accounts receivable (A/R) and accounts payable (A/P). Prepare financial and project-specific reports to support decision-making. Track payments and waivers for sub-contractors and ensure accurate records are maintained. Assist Project Managers with job-specific accounting tasks. Adapt workflow processes as needed to suit unique situations. Use various computer systems and software, including QB Desktop, Sage 100 Contractor, Excel Handle billing, job cost analysis, and budgetingRequirements Must possess a minimum of two years of experience in a Bookkeeping or similar role. Experience with Sage 100 is a requirement. Prior experience in billing and job cost is necessary. Demonstrated ability in budgeting and forecasting is essential. Advanced knowledge of accounting software and Microsoft Office applications, particularly Excel. Must have a strong understanding of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP). Excellent organizational skills with an ability to think proactively and prioritize work. Strong written and oral communication skills. Ability to work independently, manage large amounts of data, and meet deadlines. Detail-oriented and analytical mindset. Must hold a relevant degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field. Ability to maintain confidentiality of sensitive company financial information. Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to make sound decisions based on accurate and timely analyses.
