Building Automation Engineer

Insight Global is looking for a Building Automation Systems Engineer to sit onsite and support 863,000 square feet of labs and office space for a client in Santa Clara, CA. As a Building Automation Systems Engineer, you will maintain a total facilities systems management program which includes all the various connected and separate electrical, mechanical, life, safety, etc. systems that are operational in a facility. You will ensure that measures are taken to operate all specialized systems in the most efficient manner to keep operating costs at a minimum. Responsibilities include: - Reviewing assigned work orders, estimating time and resources and orders necessary materials and supplies to complete all repairs - Overseeing scope development, work request initiation, scheduling, and inspection of work performed by outside contractors, which includes proprietary work, licensed installations, upgrades, and maintenance and inspection of specialized systems - Inspecting specialized systems to ensure operation of equipment is within design capabilities and achieves operational conditions prescribed by client - Monitoring the BMS and program changes while adding graphics to the system- Troubleshooting "zone calls" - Experience with Desigo Siemens - Experience working in temperature regulated environments such as a lab or data center- 3-5 years of experience working with Building Automation/Building Management systems (ideally Desigo Siemens)- Ability to read and analyze the building automation system and troubleshoot issues that arise - Must have experience working with BMS panels, landing wires and troubleshooting wiring and PLCS - Background in HVAC with strong understanding of VFDs, air handlers, heating coils, etc. - Strong communication skills
