Job Description

This position is preferably based on the East Coast

In this role, you’ll support the East Coast BioPharma Business Development team to grow Guardant Health’s biopharma business. You’ll play a key role in developing and maintaining existing customers while also building new customer relationships, and supporting the development of new accounts.

You’ll work closely with drug development companies to build partnerships using DNA based clinical trial services for biomarker discovery and development. You’ll manage new account onboarding activities including, lead generation, CRM data entry, due diligence and contracting while also supporting strategic account initiatives, identifying and making new connections.

You’ll guide and educate potential partners, whether biomarker researchers, translational medicine scientists or clinical development teams and support the East Coast BioPharma Business Development Directors with identifying new Companion Diagnostic opportunities as they arise from the clinical trial services and data produced by Guardant collaborations.

As well as being externally focused, you’ll be well connected internally to address customer needs, working across functions to solve problems, find solutions and deliver an outstanding customer experience. Groups you’ll interact with regularly include Research Operations, Alliance Management, Bioinformatics, Quality, Medical Affairs, Legal, and Finance.

Collaboration is a key success factor. You’ll partner and problem solve with people across the research, clinical and business groups, must be able to influence and shape opinions and help teams reach decisions and deliver on customers’ needs.

Qualifications

You have prior sales, business development, or consulting experience and/or education in business administration, or you have worked within biopharma, sequencing, diagnostics, CROs, or in a related life sciences area.

You have a strong desire to develop and close successful cross-functional collaborations, and bring in repeat business from multiple customers.

You are independent and self-starting, and will pro-actively chase leads and opportunities, but also work with the team to build and support processes and bring the best of the company to a customer.

You can build and service multiple leads simultaneously, balancing emerging relationships with on-going ones, addressing needs on time.

You are able to tease apart customers’ needs and motivations, and can successfully influence them. You have strong presentation skills, are good at problem solving and have a good analytic skillset too.

You are motivated to grow the business, not just your patch, and see the broader team succeed. You are able to prioritize and focus on the important, not just the urgent.

In addition, you bring:

- BA or BS (Advanced degree, M.B.A. a plus)

Additional Information

Employee may be required to lift routine office supplies and use office equipment. Majority of the work is performed in a desk/office environment. Ability to sit for extended periods of time.
