Overview

The Business Intelligence Analyst is part of the Operations Business Office (OBO) at First Citizens Bank. The OBO supports the wider Bank Operations organization via analytics, reporting, project management, strategic planning, and process improvement. This position can be fully remote anywhere in the USA. Preference will be given to candidates local to one of our FCB offices. Position may require limited travel based on business needs (up to 10%). Responsibilities

  • Assess a wide range of factors affecting efficiency, productivity, and risk.
  • Participate in special analytical projects and advanced technical reporting initiatives.
  • Partner with Bank Operations leadership to evaluate current practices, collect information, and create specifications to support business initiatives, including development of metrics and process improvements.
  • Analyze results to identify anomalies and resolve any discrepancies.
  • Reporting - Produces reports based on quantitative and qualitative information. Builds dashboards using Tableau and Power BI. Conveys patterns, problems, and areas of improvement. Streamlines reporting processes.
  • Identifying Objectives - Determines overall business needs through research and analysis. Suggests strategies to achieve company and department goals. Assists in creating specifications, project plans, or other forms of documentation to communicate business initiatives to stakeholders.
  • Data Analysis - Sources, compiles, and interprets data. Analyzes data for accuracy and efficiencies. Effectively communicates analysis output.
  • Operational Support - Provides daily support for business operations by responding to inquiries, identifying issues, and working to improve standard practices. Assists in implementing recommended modifications and enhancements. May serve as an analytics resource to wider organization or business units.
  • Project Management - Manages the life cycle of operational projects and initiatives. Assists in gathering data, coordinating logistics, developing communications, and other activities that facilitate project success. May lead assigned projects.
Qualifications

Bachelor's Degree and 6 years of experience in Analytics, Reporting, and Modelling OR High School Diploma / GED and 10 years of experience in Analytics, Reporting, and Modelling

Additional Requirements:
  • Experience with data visualization tools (Tableau, Power BI) required
  • Advanced Excel skills required
  • Advanced communication skills (written, verbal) required
  • Project management experience preferred

Other Skills:
  • Ability to pick up new systems and processes quickly
  • Strong quantitative and qualitative skills; being able to analyze data, draw conclusions, identify trends and issues, and diagnose root causes of issues
