Business Objects Developer

About the roleAs a Business Objects Developer, you will be responsible for developing, researching and implementing Business Objects ( BO ) universes including but not limited to, data reporting, ad hoc research projects, and general user troubleshooting. Other key responsibilities include: Strong SQL and ability to use SQL management platforms (i.e., Microsoft SQL Management Studio)Analyzing BO report issues and properly diagnosing where the issue lies (be it the WEBI report, the query panel, the universe, or the data) and how to resolve itMaintaining, troubleshooting, and updating multiple existing UDT and IDT universes; pulling from unique and sophisticated data sets, while adhering to best business practicesBuilding new BO universes based on complicated data models while maintaining consistent communication with the requesting team leaders and the DB programmersSustaining basic BO CMC maintenance, such as adding and removing users, assigning security, tracking schedules, and removing outdated instances, etc.Moving through the software development lifecycle using both waterfall and agile methodologies, adjust task details through development, UAT and production environments, and manage items through team KanBan boardsMeeting with the department heads and team leads to gather requirements, troubleshoot potential issues, and create timelines while maintaining a welcoming working environment for all involved

About youWe d love to hear from you if you:Have a background in writing and executing SQL queries (MS SQL preferred)Display strong development experience with tools such as WEBI (4.0+ preferred), Universe Designer (UDT, 4.0+ preferred), Information Design Tool (IDT), and CMCDemonstrate the analytical skills needed to correctly comprehend and communicate data, as well as analyze and reconcile BO universe design with attention to detailStay abreast of current and new development processes, tools, technologies, and market trends as they relate to systems development and implementation in support of the legal industry And have:A Bachelor s degree in Computer Science, Analytics, Math, Economics, Finance, Accounting, Information Management, or a related field is desiredA minimum of three (3) years of Business Objects and SQL experience is desired
