CAD TECH for Stone Fabrication Shop Wanted

We are a high-volume shop that custom fabricates commercial and residential stone countertops.

The CAD TECH transforms digital templates and measurements in CAD and computer programs for the stone fabrication on our shop’s machinery. We prefer to have this position also act as second lineman (when necessary) to run shop machinery as experienced and trained.

PRIMARY DUTIES include (but not limited to):

Using ALPHACAM, AUTOCAD, and other specialized programs, transform digital templates and create CAD files for shop cut sheets to be used to fabricate countertops.

Work with coworkers and other team members to review the digital layout to resolve any pre-fabrication issues as well as answer questions regarding material available.

Read blueprints to interpret layout of stone countertops of commercial projects when necessary.

Demonstrate attention to detail to ensure measurements and layouts are accurate before fabricating process begins.

Maintain organization of shop drawings/paperwork flow.

Other duties to support the CAD to production operations.

SECONDARY DUTIES include (but not limited to):

On machinery where experienced and trained, fill in as second lineman to operate machinery.

Collaborate with shop team members to provide a high level of knowledge of stone equipment to power up equipment, provide guidance on effective operational methods, and assist with routine maintenance.

Monitor use of equipment to ensure it is being operated correctly.

Assisting the material handler with moving, organizing, and staging material

Assisting with remnant organization, labeling, and inventory,

Assist as necessary for receiving material and supplies.

Participate in daily shop clean up (housekeeping) assignments.

Other duties are to ensure the stone shop equipment operates effectively, efficiently, correctly and being maintained promptly.

Other duties as assigned.

ESSENTIAL TO THE JOB includes (but not limited to):

Must be fluent in English (understand, speak, read, and write in English)

Previous experience in stone countertop fabrication industry producing both residential and commercial projects.

Must be able to produce quality work meeting required deadlines, while maximizing efficiency of shop production

Computer experience is essential including ALPHACAM/AUTOCAD/OR SIMILAR

Must be flexible, adaptable, and work well under pressure.

Must be able to work effectively both independently and as a department team member.

This is a Full-time position.

Monday thru Friday 6:30 am to 3:00 pm with Daily overtime and Saturday overtime as needed.
