Description Robert Half is looking for a Certified Payroll Specialist!The Certified Payroll Specialist will play a vital role in supporting our clients payroll department in accurately processing employee compensation and ensuring compliance with relevant regulations. Job Responsibilities:

Process and manage payroll for a diverse employee base, ensuring compliance with federal, state, and local regulations.

Handle payroll-related inquiries and resolve discrepancies in a timely manner.

Maintain and update employee records, including new hires, terminations, salary changes, and benefits adjustments.

Calculate and process earnings, deductions, bonuses, and retroactive payments.

Conduct payroll audits to ensure accuracy and adherence to company policies.

Prepare and submit payroll reports and tax filings, including W-2s, 1099s, and quarterly tax reports.

Collaborate with HR and Finance departments to ensure seamless payroll operations.

Stay updated on changes in payroll legislation and industry best practices.

Requirements

Qualifications:

Certified Payroll Professional (CPP) or similar certification preferred.

Proven experience in payroll processing, including complex calculations and reporting.

Strong knowledge of payroll software and systems.

Excellent understanding of federal, state, and local payroll laws and regulations.

Proficient in Microsoft Excel and other office applications.

Strong attention to detail, organizational skills, and the ability to manage multiple priorities.

Excellent communication skills and ability to work collaboratively with team members and other departments.

Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field preferred.

Minimum of 5 years of experience in payroll administration.
