Description: Job Title: Manager, Development Business Operations, Clinical Pricing Location: Foster City preferred, but remote 100% is fine

Manager, Development Business Operations, Clinical Pricing Position will be accountable for drafting, reviewing and finalizing the creation of clinical site budgets of global Phase I through IV Gilead sponsored studies in accordance with Fair Market Value and industry best practices. Responsibilities include working with Gilead Clinical Operations, Finance, Legal, Clinical Contracting and Functional Service Providers to ensure proper clinical site budget development, training and dissemination. Ideal candidate will have prior experience with external benchmarking tools, industry best practices, and technology to continuously improve. Additionally, the candidate will also be involved with pricing responsibilities outside of Gilead sponsored studies, including the pricing and Fair Market Value analysis of Investigator Sponsored Research. Must coordinate cross functionally with Contract Managers, Functional Service Providers, Gilead Clinical Operations and Gilead Finance and Legal departments to manage and complete the site budget building process throughout study duration. Responds and resolves complex issues associated with domestic and international budgeting with support from more senior staff. Ideal candidate will have demonstrated success in working collaboratively with stakeholders, especially senior Development Business Operations management.

• Experienced in clinical trial protocol review, clinical pricing and budget development, benchmarking tools and analysis, as well as industry trends and standards. • Knowledgeable in Clinical Pricing practices, including impact of global studies, complex trials and understanding of key stakeholder engagement. • Experienced in Global Industry-Sponsored Clinical Trials, Clinical Trial Site Budget Development, Clinical Trial Protocol Review, Clinical Trial Site Budget Escalation, Global Investigator-Sponsored Research FMV • Preferred Benchmarking Software Experience: IQVIA’s GrantPlan & GrantPlan for Investigators • This role can manage the day-today activities in complex clinical budget development and pricing processes. • Focuses on site clinical trials contracting, fair market value (FMV) compliance of site contracts, and accountability as it relates to FSP engagement and site start-up. • Experience developing and presenting Fair Market Value (FMV) Analysis and Trends • Demonstrated familiarity with Clinical Data Management/EDC System • Demonstrates excellent analytical, verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills. • Demonstrates applicable knowledge of clinical and non-clinical research functions. • Manages the day-to-day activities of multiple areas in moderately complex clinical pricing and analysis. • Familiarity with various Regulatory and industry trends on compliance level activity (i.e. – ICH Google Cloud Platform E6 R2, etc.) and experience with interfacing with internal regulatory compliance and quality functions to drive site contracts and budget (FMV) • Demonstrated leadership skills while working in fast paced and changing environment • Skilled at development and delivering staff training • Identifies issues/problems and provides recommendations for solutions. • Demonstrates ability to make critical decisions related to projects and tasks. • Demonstrates ability to work in fast paced and changing environment • Assists other staff in resolving moderately complex issues relating to clinical pricing. • Ability to develop and use spreadsheets and tracking tools. • Manages relationships in conjunction with the Clinical Operations as it relates to Clinical Pricing. • Demonstrates excellent verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills. • This role demonstrates an in-depth knowledge of negotiations of clinical trials budgets. • Demonstrates strong understanding of regulatory and legal issues pertinent to clinical development. • Demonstrates an understanding of the regulatory implications of contracts as related to clinical research. • This role must be able to interact on high level with the clinical teams, and project management to provide support of Clinical Pricing responsibilities. • Demonstrates ability to tackle projects and tasks efficiently and with the big picture in mind. Able to represent the Clinical Pricing team in new and ongoing initiatives, collaborate internally and externally with key stakeholders, and ensure Clinical Pricing is accurately represented in key projects. • Completes tasks and projects under minimal to no supervision. • Responsible for translating trends to solutions. • Ability in setting up complex LE structures by developing or refining new/dynamic modeling approaches. • Manages budget scenario activities for multiple, complex studies/programs across the various therapeutic areas. • Develops strategy by engaging with business partners for improvements to key processes. • Takes the initiative to evaluate business needs and deliver complex pricing analyses. • Demonstrates agility and takes decisive actions, course corrections and/or abandon ineffective strategies based on gained insights/analytics. • Travel may be required (to FC)

Knowledge, Experience and Skills:

• 7+ years of experience with a BA in a relevant discipline. • 5+ years of experience with a MS/MBA in a relevant discipline. • Relevant experience typically includes contract negotiation and/clinical finance • Competent in computer skills (Microsoft Office including Excel, Word and PowerPoint) • Ideal candidate will have prior experience with external benchmarking, industry best practices, and analytical skills to continuously improve. • Relevant experience typically includes clinical pricing and budget negotiation, and application of project management principles. • Global Clinical Pricing experience a plus. • Skilled at project management, able to meet deadlines on multiple concurrent projects and work collaboratively with and through others. • Demonstrates patience and is able to break down complex information into digestible pieces. • Able to work in a rapidly changing environment with a high tolerance for ambiguity. • Aptitude to thrive in a fast-paced, changing environment while producing quality work under time constraint. • Ability to analyze situations from organizational, departmental perspective (ie considers strategy, culture, structure, systems, people, processes and planning). • Ability to work effectively in a team environment and creatively solve problems. • Must exhibit a positive attitude, a respect for others, a results-oriented approach and ability to work independently as well as collectively.
