Job Title Cloud Software Engineer Job Description The Cloud Platforms and Architectures Department goes beyond traditional software systems design and application hosting environments. We provide our customers with guidance and solutions for developing/deploying/managing highly available, resilient, and scalable software systems utilizing cloud technologies and cloud native application architectures. The Cloud Software Engineer contributes to research and delivery of these services. Work Model: This position is a hybrid work model and can sit partially remote with some onsite work required in either El Segundo, CA or Chantilly, VA. What You'll Be Doing- Work in a fast-paced, feature-driven environment, experimenting with state-of-the-art software technologies to rapidly develop prototypes that demonstrate the capabilities of these technologies
- Stay at the forefront of cloud technology to help our customers leverage them to fulfill their mission needs
- Develop software for various cloud-related prototyping activities
- Implement DevSecOps technologies to securely streamline development, testing, build, and deployment of applications
- Research and experiment with both cutting edge and bleeding edge technologies
- Support not only local project teams, but project teams at other national offices as well
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related technical field(s) from a recognized institution.
- At least 1 year of industry related technical work experience
- Experience writing code in Python, Go, Java, or a similar language
- Experience with data structures, algorithms, and software design
- Ability to obtain and maintain a security clearance, which is issued by the U.S. government. US Citizenship is required to obtain a Security Clearance.
- Master's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related technical field(s) from a recognized institution.
- Experience designing, writing, and/or troubleshooting software and systems in a distributed Linux environment
- Experience with containers and container orchestration systems, such as Docker and Kubernetes
- Experience with Amazon Web Services (AWS), Microsoft Azure, and/or Google Cloud Platform
- Knowledge of Linux system administration
