Lead CNC MachinistJob DescriptionWe are seeking a skilled Lead CNC Machinist with extensive experience in milling to join our team. In this role, you will set up, program, and operate 3, 5 axis, and vertical CNC machining equipment. You will utilize a wide range of controls, perform job set-up using traditional clamping methods, vices, and custom work holding fixtures. You will read and interpret blueprints to maintain dimensions within tolerances of precision machined parts, monitor machining processes, and adjust set up as needed. Additionally, you will complete documentation as required, utilize precision measuring instruments, and work closely with leads and operators to ensure high quality of parts. You will also be responsible for troubleshooting and resolving machine operation issues, maintaining machine-specific tools and consumables, and collaborating with team members to promote efficient workflow and a safe working environment.Hard Skills
Set up, program, and operate 3, 5 axis, and vertical CNC machining equipment
Job set-up using traditional clamping methods, vices, and custom work holding fixtures
Read and interpret blueprints
Utilize precision measuring instruments such as micrometers, dial indicators, height gauges, pin gauges, and gauge block
Detect and correct minor malfunctions or out-of-tolerance machining
Troubleshoot and resolve machine operation issues
Experience with mori seiki, Haas, and 5 axis machining equipment
Soft Skills
Daily communication with Supervisors, leads, and other employees
Collaborate with lead and operators to ensure high quality of parts
Raise machining or quality issues with appropriate supervision or engineering support
Manage time to meet routed cycle and set-up times
Provide training to other operators
Maintain workstation and setup carts to 5S standards
Maintain a high standard of quality work within environmental, health, and safety standards
Work SiteThis is a fully on-site position in Poway, California.Work EnvironmentThis position offers the opportunity to work on 1st shift (6am-2:30pm) or 2nd shift (3pm-11:30pm). The role involves preparing and maintaining milling machines to produce precision parts and tools from metal or plastic, ensuring quality and on-time delivery.
