Organization:PAMF-Palo Alto Medical Foundation PADPosition Overview:Implements the elements pertaining to the Coding Education Program. This includes conducting focused coding audits, coder accuracy monitoring, and carrying out coding education initiatives. Helps manage the education plan (resulting from annual provider audits, ad-hoc medical group/provider requests, etc.). Provides coding education for assigned groups, providers, and coders and resolve questions as they arise regarding coding education/audit activities and documentation requirements. Partners with Leads to generate educational opportunities needed to support coding and documentation compliance. This includes implementing coding education initiatives to improve the accuracy, integrity and quality of patient data, to ensure minimal variation in coding practices and improve the quality of physician documentation within the body of the medical record to support code assignments.Hybrid PositionJob Description :Hybrid PositionEDUCATION:HS Diploma or General Education Diploma (GED)CERTIFICATION & LICENSURECPC -Certified Professional CoderTYPICAL EXPERIENCE:4 years recent relevant experienceSKILLS AND KNOWLEDGE:

AHIMA or AAPC Coding Certification required (CCS-P, CPC, COC, or CPC-P) required.

Knowledge of Epic Resolute and Ambulatory, PowerPoint, Excel, including charts and pivot tables. ICD-10, CPT, and HCPCS coding knowledge inclusive of associated billing edits such as NCCI.

Ability to review, analyze, and interpret billing guidelines and state and federal regulations.

Experience with coding auditing tools such as MD Audit.

Experience with Ingenix Encoder Pro, 3M or other encoding software tools.

Proficiency in Microsoft Suite of products such as PowerPoint, Visio, Excel including using pivot tables, formulas and graphics.

Ability to drive to locations to provide physician/staff education
