Collections Clerk

Description We are offering a contract to hire employment opportunity for a Collections Clerk in the service industry, located in Pleasanton, California. The role involves managing and resolving various collection duties on loan accounts in early stages of delinquency, interacting with members for prompt resolution of accounts and performing light skip tracing on delinquent loans.Responsibilities: Initiate actions to collect payments from members on delinquent accounts and maintain records relating to such accounts. Conduct regular follow-ups on delinquent accounts to bring them up to date. Document all conversations with members regarding account discussions, promises, or solutions in the collection systems. Implement necessary actions on delinquent loans in the collection systems. Identify the root causes of financial hardships to offer appropriate solutions and recommend repayment plans and extension workouts. Notify co-signers about the status of delinquent accounts which they endorsed. Report special problem accounts to the manager to ensure the appropriate actions are taken, such as completing loan modifications, payment extensions, etc. Assist in the research of disputed payment records. Perform other duties as assigned within the department. Manage cross-training and back-up to other positions in the department.
