Collections Clerk

Description Robert Half, a globally recognized staffing agency, is on the hunt for a dynamic, detail-oriented Collections Clerk on a temporary-to-hire basis for one of our prestigious clients in the financial services industry. The position is based in Pleasanton, California.This role requires a candidate who can manage and plan the company's receivables with precision and tact, ensuring prompt payments while maintaining excellent relations with clients. The ideal person will flourish in a fast-paced workplace and is passionate about contributing to a team-oriented environment.Key Responsibilities:

Monitor and maintain assigned accounts through follow ups and possibly implement alternative payment options.

Perform subsequent actions such as resending invoices, identifying discrepancies, and resolving any outstanding balance issues.

Review, process, and reconcile payments and expenditures, including purchase orders, invoices, checks, and statements.

Verify accounts by reconciling statements and transactions.

Direct communication with customers, internal and external, regarding payment discrepancies.

Adhere to organizational standards in maintaining detailed precise records.

Collaborate effectively with the finance team and report on collection activity and accounts receivable status.

Requirements

Qualifications:

At least 2-3 years of experience in a similar role, preferably within the financial services industry.

An associated degree in Finance or a related field. Bachelor's degree would be an advantage.

Strong communication skills, both written and verbal, are imperative.

Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel.

Detail-oriented with a high level of accuracy and ability to multitask.

Knowledge of standard accounting and collection procedures.

Solid negotiation skills in securing payments from customers.
