Supports compliance program administration for clinical operations of Optum’s West Region businesses

Supports the development, implementation, and oversight of metrics related to compliance functions across care delivery organizations.

Researches, reviews, and analyzes regulatory requirements related to Medicare, Medicaid, Affordable Care Act (ACA), Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act (HIPAA), and other matters to ensure compliance with state and federal regulations and internal policies

Conducts regulatory research and analysis to support compliance inquiries, investigations, health plan and regulatory audits, and business partners across care delivery organizations

Assists with the development, update, revision, and/or implementation of policies, procedures, and practices for general compliance and operations

Support the development of risk assessment tools and implementation of compliance risk work plans

Supports the development and delivery of materials and presentations to Compliance Committees, Board of Directors, and other key leadership meetings

Imparts framework and knowledge of the seven areas of an effective compliance program to internal and external stakeholders

Supports the compliance review of external facing materials to ensure compliance with all regulatory requirements and internal policies

Ensures standard processes are appropriately documented, implemented and updated as required

Makes recommendations to key internal stakeholders for process improvements and/or remediation plans aligned to regulatory requirements and internal policies

Establishes and maintains open lines of communication, both internal and external, to effectively present department services, policies, procedures, and programs

High school diploma

3+ years of experience working in a government, health care, or health compliance

Direct experience in compliance programs supporting provider / clinical / operations

Experience interacting and collaborating with a variety of stakeholders (other team members, internal and external customers, and executives)

Familiarity with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel and PowerPoint)

Preferred Qualifications:

CHC (Certified in HealthCare Compliance)

Experience in compliance, audit, or other regulatory working experience in the health industry, government programs, compliance programs, or related fields

Experience with Microsoft Teams/SharePoint

Knowledge of healthcare regulatory compliance with Commercial, Medicare, and Medicaid

Demonstrated exceptional interpersonal and communication skills

Proven ability to be detail-oriented

Demonstrated ability to prioritize, plan, and handle multiple tasks/demands simultaneously

Solid project management skills

Ability to gather, analyze, and present data to key internal and external stakeholders

Demonstrated solid problem solving, conflict resolution, negotiating and decision-making skills

Presentation, training, and strong communication skills

Pay is based on several factors including but not limited to local labor markets, education, work experience, certifications, etc. UnitedHealth Group complies with all minimum wage laws as applicable.
