Pay $21.40 - $29.00 hourly for the 705. 1 level

Job Description

Position will be closed to applicants on March 29, 2023.

We have two openings for our Summer Undergraduate Cybersecurity Internship Program taking place from May 2023 to August 2023. The 10-week program is for undergraduate level students who will be given the opportunity to participate as Cyber Toaster students; investigating and recreating a custom decoder for the SUNBURST DGA, using techniques taught in the Network Archaeology class. The selected interns will provide technical and/or research support to projects in the areas of computational science, cyber defense, computer science, numerical methods, mathematics, or other related fields.

In this roleyou will
  • Learn necessary concepts and skills for responding effectively to cybersecurity incidents.
  • Learn the three core pillars in incident response: Host Forensics, Network Archaeology and Malware Analysis.
  • Work with scientists, engineers, and technical staff members to provide technical and/or research support to projects in the areas of computational science, numerical methods, mathematics, orother related fields.
  • Under close supervision, will participate in research in assigned area.
  • Gather and analyze data and information in support of scientific research.
  • Participate in research planning and evaluation discussion.
  • Attend relevant on-site seminars (at least one per week).
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
Qualifications

Qualifications
  • Must be a continuing college or university student in good standing at an accredited institution pursuing an undergraduate degree in Computer Science, Mathematics, Machine Learning, Computer Vision, or other relatedfields.
  • Ability to apply basic computational science and/or mathematical principles to solve technical problems.
  • Demonstrated effective communication skills.
  • Ability to present and communicate concepts and ideas.
  • Experience working with personal computers and familiarity with Word, Excel and PowerPoint.
  • Ability to work in a team environment.
  • Must have GPA of 3.0 or higher

Security Clearance
