Construction Assistant / Project Manager

San Francisco general contractor has an opening for a construction Assistant/Project Manager. We are an established high-end custom residential contractor with projects located in San Francisco and Sonoma.

This position will work with the office, clients, architects and designers and will report directly to the General Contractor overseeing the project. Excellent communication skills are necessary and the ability to handle multiple tasks simultaneously is a must. Must be able to prioritize tasks, be willing to take a leadership role and have good time management skills. Construction experience is not mandatory but an interest in the field is highly desired.

Computer literacy is required - Knowledge of Microsoft Office – word, excel, google docs etc.

The Assistant/Project Manager is responsible for

Assisting with estimating and bidding. This includes contacting subcontractors and vendors for quotes for varying services and goods

Preparing project schedules

Staying informed with costs and the project budget and assisting with cost options as needed

Creating change orders

Communication with all parties via email, zoom and site meetings

Willing to learn how to read architectural plans

Obtaining permits

Research of construction and build materials

Excellent organizational and communication skills

Communicating information from the office to the field and to subs

Troubleshooting and problem solving

Purchasing, tracking and receiving of building materials

Property management for rentals

Covering other office staffs duties during sick time / vacation times
