Controller

Description Robert Half is is actively recruiting for a Controller for Construction company for about 1-2 months engagement. The consultant’s primary responsibilities will be reviewing and closing out the books for prior year and bring the books current. Review all Journal entries and balance sheet reconciliations. This role will be located onsite in Palm Desert,CA.Skills:

Understanding of Job cost and construction revenue ( big plus)

Month end close cleanup and account reconciliations

Full Cycle General ledger accounting

Heavy Excel usage

Good knowledge of QuickBooks Desktop

Requirements

Demonstrated ability to implement solutions, strong analytical and communication skills as well

Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting or other relevant field

CPA and/or CMA preferred

Expertise in Month-end Close Activities

Monthly Account Reconciliation experience

Solid understanding of month end closings

Proficiency in Month-end Journal Entries

Experience with Full Cycle Accounting

Comprehension of ERP system offerings is preferred

Accounting and controllership or public accounting and internal controls experience and/or Internal Audit or Controls and Compliance

Accomplished in office and accounting computer systems

Ability to manage, lead change and build process improvements

Prior background in engaging virtually with teams around the globe and providing leadership across finance teams

Outstanding communication and negotiation skills
