Corporate Tax Staff Accountant

Description We are offering a short term contract employment opportunity for a Corporate Tax Staff Accountant in Santa Monica, California. The role involves handling a variety of tax-related tasks, including the preparation and filing of various tax returns, managing multistate tax filings, and dealing with cryptocurrency gains and losses. Responsibilities: Manage the preparation and filing of individual, partnership, S-corporation, and K-1 tax returns. Oversee multistate tax filings for various states. Handle tax filings for trusts, estates, and non-profit organizations. Prepare and distribute K-1s for multiple partnerships. Address and resolve any discrepancies or issues related to cryptocurrency gains and losses. Utilize Lacerte software for tax preparation and filing. Maintain a high level of attention to detail and ability to work efficiently under tight deadlines. Display strong organizational and communication skills. Process customer credit applications accurately and efficiently. Maintain accurate customer credit records. Requirements Proficiency in Intuit ProSeries software Experience with Lacerte Tax Software Advanced skills in Microsoft Excel Background in auditing with a focus on tax accounting Knowledge of bookkeeping functions and principles Experience in preparing and filing individual tax returns Bachelor's degree in Accounting or related field Certified Public Accountant (CPA) or Enrolled Agent (EA) license preferred Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills Strong attention to detail and accuracy Ability to manage multiple tasks and deadlines simultaneously Excellent written and verbal communication skills Ability to work independently as well as part of a team.
